Lawrence Central Choir Season 2018-19

We are so very excited to begin this new show choir season at Lawrence Central High School.
Please see the enclosed form for our mandatory Show Choir Camp that will take place July
29-August 1 at Lawrence Central. We ask that this form be returned and the $75.00 payment
made by June 29, 2018.

We also invite you to our mandatory parent informational meeting on July 26th at 7 PM in the choir room at Lawrence Central. At this meeting you will learn all about the upcoming season, get your questions answered, and meet our new director! Please enter the building through Door 10. The choir room is room 196, on the right hand side of the hallway.
We’ve included the 2018-19 Participation/Quota Fees reference sheet. PA billing will occur in
the next few weeks. Payment plans can be made, as soon as billing is finished. Please contact
PA office at (317)964-7553 or email suzannefelli@msdlt.k12.in.us to set up a payment plan.

The Central Sound

Central Sound is the premier mixed show choir at Lawrence Central, featuring 40-45 choir members, and supported by a student band and crew during the show choir competition season (January to March).  Central Sound competes regionally and nationally, and has won many championships over recent years.  Directed by Brianna Holt, choreographed by Brent "Woody" Holland and accompanied by Charles Manning with Kristina LaMarca directing the band.  Students who participate in Central Sound develop musicianship and performance skills through solo and ensemble singing.  The students have opportunities to experience live performances by professionals during and outside of the school day.

The Sweet Sensation

Sweet Sensation is the premier women's show choir at Lawrence Central, featuring 40-45 choir members, and supported by a student band and crew during the show choir competition season (January to March).  Sweet Sensation competes regionally and nationally, and has won many championships over recent years.  Directed by Brianna Holt, choreographed by Brent "Woody" Holland and accompanied by Charles Manning.  Students participating in Sweet Sensation develop musicianship and performance skills through solo and ensemble singing.  The students also have the opportunity to experience live performances by professionals during and outside of the school day.

Sophisticates

The Sophisticates is a beginning chorus that performs a wide variety of high school level literature in concerts throughout the school year.  This ensemble is comprised of all female voices.  Students develop musicianship and performance skills through solo and ensemble singing.

Symphonic Choir

The Symphonic Choir is an advanced chorus that performs a wide variety of high school level literature in concerts throughout the school year.  The ensemble is comprised of both male and female voices.  Students develop musicianship and performance skills through solo and ensemble singing. 

 

Advanced Chorus/Gospel Choir

 

Gospel Choir, self-named #LCGC, is a student led group that focuses on cultural music within the Gospel idiom. Students are taught music by rote via a Gospel Choir informant. This person comes in during the school day and helps instruct. Gospel Choir has many opportunities to perform outside of the traditional concert calendar. Many performances occur on Sunday mornings, at local churches.
