1. Students receive a grade for every performance. All performances are required and if students do not attend, their grade is significantly affected (please see classroom grading policy).
2. "Volunteer Requirement" refers to events which LC Performing Arts hosts as a method of fundraising by the booster organization (LCPAA). This helps keep student fundraising quotas lower than they would be if we did not host these events. Every student should plan to volunteer to work a minimum of one event each semester. Of course, students may work as many events as they wish as long as they have met the minimum requirement each semester.
3. The Jazz Band often performs at a couple of select jazz festivals throughout the year in addition to special performances for community organizations. Students will be made aware of these additional performances well in advance of the actual event. These additional performances will also be part of the student’s performance grade (see classroom grading policy).
4. Report times for concerts are generally 1 hour prior to performance time. Report times and itineraries for contests will be given to students as soon as that information becomes available. Those times will also be posted to the LCPAA website (lcpaa.org)
5. The LC Commencement Ceremony Performance will involve all students that are selected for the 2010-2011 Wind Ensemble.
6. A Pep Band Performance Schedule will be handed out to all band students by the middle of October. We divide the entire number of students we have into 3 complete bands that will share the responsibility of performing at 5 basketball games throughout the winter months (November, Dec., Jan., Feb., Mar.)
7. Members of the Spirit of Central Marching Band and their parents should consult the LCPAA website (lcpaa.org) to receive itineraries for the various contests the marching band attends throughout the fall. These itineraries are normally available each Tuesday prior to the Saturday event with hard copies available at the front of the band room. Students and parents should also be aware that this calendar is not a marching band calendar. The marching band season calendar can be obtained via the lcpaa.org website.
